Beyond skiing: Top 10 snow activities you must try at Falls Creek

Taking a vacation to the snowy village of Falls Creek is about more than just skiing – you are in another world, and there are so many other activities to make your journey a surreal experience.

Whilst we love exciting downhill action, between runs there are many things to do to enjoy your vacation, delight your senses, indulge and relax.

With St Falls Resort being so central to the village, there is so much to do just outside your door, so make sure you investigate the many other activities that will enrich your visit to our mountain village.

Start with a Falls Creek breakfast!

There is no better start to a day than to enjoy a warm breakfast overlooking the stunning vista that is Falls Creek. Pair a feast for the eyes with one for the soul, and cradle a hot beverage while watching the sun rise over crisp peaks, from the balcony or wide windows of the 1550 Café.

You’re feeling warm and nourished, what a great way to guarantee a great start to the day!

Take a around tour of Falls Creek

1. Cross-country skiing in Falls Creek

Fun as it is to let gravity be your guide down the popular slopes, you could also go on your own adventure, take out the long skis for a discovery trek along the countryside. There are many groves, lakes and lookouts to explore, and more than a few opportunities to appreciate nature, and find the awe that you are looking for.

2. Snowshoe hike: A guided tour of Falls Creek

Expand your snow experience beyond the slopes. Swap your skis for snowshoes and embark on a guided tour along gorgeous trails with a fun social group. Visit Rocky Valley Lake taking in the awe-inspiring beauty of the winter wilderness whilst connecting with nature and fellow adventurers.

3. For the kids: Snowplay and tobogganing in Falls Creek

A snowfield holiday can create memories for children that last a lifetime! The pure joy and thrill of tobogganing down a slope or learning to master skiing or snowboarding are experiences they will cherish and take with them throughout their lives.

Kids can learn to ski with Skiclub, which introduces children aged 3-6 years to the joys and skills of skiing joining kids their own age and making new friends along the way!

Together they can toboggan or pile onto a rubber tube inventing new ways to race down the slopes on child-friendly basins, for snow-fuelled mayhem of fun.

Falls Creek hosts many child-friendly activities within the village, such as the snowman-making competition every Wednesday and Saturday.

As a special highlight, every Tuesday from 3:30pm the Village Bowl becomes a delightful social event for the kids with many different games including fire pits, marshmallows and dancing, all encouraged by Pete the Snow Dragon and his many helpers to guide the kids into enjoying their time with other kids.
